Our Mission

Green burials involve a natural return to the earth—biodegradable caskets or shrouds are used, bodies are buried three feet down, there is no embalming, and natural decomposition nourishes the earth and can support natural habitats. Learn more about Green Burial Principles here.
Green Burial Kingston is a nonprofit organization that aims to help establish burial places where the community can come together to honour the death and celebrate the life of a loved one in natural surroundings.
We offer education about green burial and engage in advocacy activities for environmentally sustainable burial practices in the Kingston area.
We belong to an international movement to reclaim our relationship with caring for the dead, the earth, and future generations.
Become a member ($20 fee) and learn about news and events. Your membership will help demonstrate the extent of community interest.
